The technology was developed by Dr. Mervin C. Yoder, the Richard and Pauline Klinger Professor of Pediatrics and professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The technology creates cells that are injected in a gel material directly into a limb to encourage the regeneration of small blood vessels. Also, can use 3-D bioprinting to make the cells necessary to create artificial blood vessels that can be transplanted into the limb. This is an extremely incredible advance because it can save the life of majority that suffering  peripheral arterial disease. This disease caused by damaged blood vessels, diminishes blood flow to a person's lower extremities, with potentially serious consequences. It is a disease in addition to expensive treatment, it can end the life of the sufferer.

It's amazing how far can the science and technology. I did not know anything about this advance but it is something that can help millions of people worldwide. Only that can save the lives of many people this progress should be something many people have available and not so expensive. I am amazed how technology has come so far as it has saved the lives of millions of people. Science will never stop surprising  that's why I will continue in this field to  contributing to the community in some way or another.

Week 8 (Bypassing the Medicine Cabinet with Technology)

http://www.josic.com/bypassing-the559-medicine-cabinet-with-technology

This article presents yet another  eye-opening advance in medical technology.  This time, it is about technology in the area of pain management. These advance include scanners to help picture better the affected area, lasers that treat joint pain and magnetic nanoparticles that stop strokes caused by blood clots. Because it is indeed technology; it is a smart computer, so they are also able to point out or recognize the affected area and provide the needed treatment and the amount of it. It is important to note that this technology is not meant to be used as a substitute for medical treatment.

technaceuticals

I find that this article is really shocking for me. It seems like technology has no limits. These new advances can be very helpful to stop or diminish chemical dependency (pain killers) which can be very dangerous for our health. Also, with the high price of pharmaceuticals , I think it will be a great help for the patient to pay less to receive pain treatment. In my opinion,  in the way that technology continues to be used in this way, we are going to face a historic advance in medical cares.

Week 7 (Technological advances in medicine can be a game changer for employment)

This is a very interesting article since it presents how all the technological advances in science can also be advances in the area of employment. It shows the many inventions like: “chips” to closely observe reactions in our organs, cures for diseases, the recreation of cells and complex skin tissue. Also, laser technology and microengineering.Further mentioned in this article are the advances in technological applications that minimize and facilitate the waiting time for patients. These are only a few of the many changes that are soon to come.

It is fascinating how human inventions are advancing so much and having such a huge impact in the field of medicine. All these technological/medical advances are going to improve lives in many impressive ways! With them also come a lot of new jobs and job opportunities.  These inventions have to be reproduced and sold, as well as the machinery. This can create companies, factories… which are going to need people to work in them. Also, insurance companies or companies that help people save up money for medical expenses will experience a great improvement in job availability since these medical advances come with very large expenses and people are looking for ways to save up for the future.

Week 6 (Northwestern Medicine develops new technology to treat allergies, asthma)

The article in discussion presents a new technology used in the field of medicine. Northwestern medicine researchers have created this biodegradable nanoparticle that treats and could potentially cure allergies; either food allergies, asthma, or others. The nanoparticle is able to hide allergens by coating them so the immune system won’t attack them. This attack by the body’s immune system is the cause of allergic reactions and/or asthma attacks; so this new technology is going to prevent them from happening. Also, it will balance the immune system by increasing the number of T cells.
This is another great advance in technology. Given the fact that many people and children suffer from asthma and food allergies, this could change these people’s lives for the best. Not being able to eat your favorite foods in fear of an allergic reaction or, not being able to breathe correctly are very dangerous things. This is why I think that this new technology is of very importance since it will protect these people from life-threatening effects. Having a balanced immune system and diminishing allergic reactions or attacks can save people from death; so this invention will be saving lives and therefore changing the world in very notable ways.
