Week 5 (Microsoft Cognitive Services: Introducing the Seeing App)

This article about an app that facilitates blind people’s lives. This app works on smartphones but also with special glasses. These glasses are still a prototype but they represent a major advance in technology. This app/glasses practically sees for the person using it. It can recognize people’s gender and emotions, things happening and can also read words by taking a photo. Since the person is obviously blind, the app also tells him/her how to move the phone so the picture is taken correctly and then reads the words out loud.

I think that this invention is unbelievable. For me, this is the real meaning and purpose of technology; to help facilitate people’s lives. Blind people face many difficulties in their life because one of the things that we need the most to function is our sight. We need to see things! This is why I am very proud and happy for this new advance in technology and the effect it will have in blind people. This also makes me feel very excited for the new inventions and advances awaiting to emerge in technology.

Week 4 (Patient vault)

PatientVault is a patient portal application that allows you to receive your medical records from all the different doctors that treat your health.  This application can use  any patient or doctor who wants to use the system for the sharing of health information. Also, open to developers, providing an open royalty-free SDK to any developer who wants to connect their apps to PatientVault. Aside from allowing you to view your medical records, you can also perform real-time communication with your doctor.  This includes allowing you to send attachments to your doctor such as your latest lab results in a secure encrypted way.

This advance is very useful and is now available in the app store for android phones. Having the medical record in the cell phone must be important because if we move from the country or want to change doctors will be easier. I like this such a great idea that allows me to have my medical record available 24 hours and that others can have direct communication with my doctor. I imagine more years, the doctors  will not need offices because everything can be done with an application. Although very useful, but I do not like the fact that the contact between doctor and patient is lost, but that is not the case for this application but maybe someday invent. Science and technology advantages, but we can not lose the human essence that characterizes us. Advance science, but we did not become a robot.

https://twitter.com/therealdrmiami

Dr. Michael Salzauher is known as “Dr. Miami”, surgeon of 43-year-old married doctor and father of five has become a social media sensation for publishing each in live surgeries in Snapchat. He has been a board certified plastic surgeon for 20 years. Before he made videos and uploaded on the internet  page, but this now is very bored and her daughter recommended him that use Snapchat. It's that storytelling prowess, a style Salzhauer calls "Cheers meetsER," that got him nominated for a 2016 Shorty Award, the Oscars for social media stars. All his photos and videos are unfiltered but his assistant of Snapchat used an emojis for cover certain areas and for do what
this more fun.

Snapchat is a social media platform. You can post pictures and record
video in 10 second snaps.  All content disappears in 24 hours and
 there are no guidelines.
This is not an advancement for medicine, but with the use of technology, this doctor teaches us about medicine presented as done each surgery of fun and different way.  This doctor makes good use of technology.  I have Dr. Miami in Snapchat and all day entered his story because I love your videos and photos.  I wanted to make this post in in relation to him because I would like many people know about he and learn about how each surgery is done before doing it. By the way all operations are spectacular, I will not be a surgeon but has always liked to see this all kinds of surgeries. By photo number two you can add to Snapchat.

Week 2 ("FlavorMaster")

http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bs-bz-flavorx-20160314-story.html
FlavorxThe "FlavorMaster," billed as the first fully automated device of its kind, can add flavor as well as water to reconstitute powdered medicine.  The machine has about 15 flavors to choose between them, strawberry, banana, gum, apple, etc... This machine is to make life easier for pharmacists and parents. Since pharmacists to put a taste of each medicine will take time. In addition to parents is an advantage because now the child chooses the flavor he wants and then not have excuses to drink it.

Flavorx      It's already getting a tryout from CVS Health at a pharmacy in Elkridge. This machine is a technological breakthrough that helps the medicine to be more efficient. I hope that this machine reaches all pharmacies in the world so that children do not suffer contact with unpleasant tastes of drugs. This is very beneficial because it helps save time, avoid disappointment and children will be happy.

Week 1 (‘When medicine & technology meet humanity’)

A group of students aspirants to the medicine presented  in a paper on the topic ‘Electro Aspirin’ in the East Asian Medical Student Conference 2016 at Taipei, Taiwan. Describing the future of medicine to be “very bright and fascinating”, the paper looks at using hi-tech not only to diagnose and treat but even in prevention of various ailments. The aim is to improve ‘services rendered to the patients’ through ‘intensive technology inventions’ and accordingly, ‘Electro Aspirin’ has been described as a ‘health reforming technology’. They state that “people who suffer from prolonged headaches and migraines can get relief easily with this milestone technology creation”.The presentation on ‘Electro Aspirin’ identifies the basic mechanism of action of this technology—to stimulate the sphenopalatine ganglion or SPG nerves and block the pain-causing neurotransmitters thereby improving the quality of life of ailing patients to a large extent.

This is an advance that not only helps the medicine but also to the human wellness. This is only a proposal has not been carried out an experiment or created some kind of tablet as well. It would be a great advantage for those who are not allergic to aspirin. Hopefully, this proposal goes beyond the papers. With a pill so many health problems would be solved quickly.
